Job Description
This role requires a highly motivated and experienced accounting professional with a track record of success in global revenue operations. In this role, you will support the global revenue operations team, partner with other business functions on projects, lead corporate initiatives towards process improvement and supporting transformational projects to achieve best in class results.
This individual must possess the ability and skills to successfully interact with, influence, coordinate and lead both a geographically and culturally diverse set of financial team members.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting, this individual will be part of the team that owns the global process for the customer program rebate reserves for Western Digital. This role will include various harmonization projects and opportunities to enhance our accounting process to be more efficient and effective. The person in this position will work closely with Revenue Accounting and Reporting teams and business partners from BU Finance, Sales Operations, Claims Settlement and IT teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for month-end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, monthly and quarterly close deliverables, including the calculation and validation of program reserves
- Analyze monthly and quarterly results of earned rebates for accuracy and completeness and be able to effectively communicate the results to business partners
- Key contact for internal and external auditors, and cross functional teams who may have questions around our reserves process
- Collaborate with other functional business units to develop business analytics and dashboard with respect to various rebates program reserves
- Design, implement and maintain effective accounting processes, policies, and internal controls. Evaluate and recommend best practices for process improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with IT and other stakeholders to modify and implement functionality improvements to system reports and processes
- Liaise with external auditor to provide requested information for quarterly reviews and annual audits
- Preparer of SOX controls and internal and external PBC requests
- Responsible for documenting process narrative, desktop procedures, and flowcharts
- Provide guidance to the junior members of the team
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting and revenue roles in high tech or similar industries
- Proficient knowledge of US GAAP and revenue recognition fundamentals
- Previous experience and real passion in managing implementation of technology and executing process improvements within the organization
PREFERRED:
- Experience with revenue transactions with distributor and OEM customers within the semiconductor industry a plus
- Experience in SAP, Oracle Cloud, and Model N environments a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA or MBA preferred
SKILLS:
- Advanced Excel skills and analytics aptitude required
- Must have the ability to execute multiple tasks, be detail oriented, committed to high quality and adhere to strict deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment
