The role therefore of Marketing Manager is a key role in our business, responsible for the development and implementation of our brand strategy and the guardian of our brand across all consumer and corporate touch points.

Purpose:

The Marketing Manager is responsible for our company marketing activities including the development and implementation of the integrated marketing strategy. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for identifying the key consumer insights from internal customer research or through research agency partner’s and will use these insights to develop and implement consumer focused marketing activities that grow our business.

Working cross functionally with key business stakeholders it will be important to build strong working relationships with pharmacists, store managers, operations and the Support Office team. The successful candidate will also be responsible for taking on a leadership role within the department, helping to support more junior members of the team on a day-to-day basis.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Day to day coordination of the marketing team providing daily feedback to the Head of Retail Marketing and external stakeholders.
  • Manage and support the marketing team under the overall direction of the Head of Retail Marketing.
  • Development of the annual marketing strategy, in conjunction with the Head of Retail Marketing, by leveraging key consumer and internal insights to develop a brand plan to drive business growth.
  • Responsible for driving the implementation of the marketing strategy and setting clear KPIs for campaigns, to review the performance of your campaigns effectively.
  • On a monthly basis, you will be responsible for the delivery of the instore marketing campaign– including briefing teams, third party agency management of production of marketing materials, briefing the digital marketing executive to ensure the campaign assets are utilised effectively and the appropriate information is provided by the buying team to support the campaign and develop the campaign idea.
  • To ensure the smooth running of the campaign, you will work closely with the Operations team.
  • Following each campaign, you will be responsible for evaluating the performance of the activity to measure effectiveness.
  • Responsible for working with creative agencies (ATL & BTL) to ensure effective briefing, development and management of campaigns.
  • Identifying PR opportunities through the development of a strong PR campaign to support the annual marketing plan.
  • A key part of the role will require digital experience to work effectively with our digital marketing executive and guide them in the implementation of brand campaigns across social media platforms. You will be responsible for working with the digital marketing executive to develop ways to improve brand reach through the development of innovative campaigns to reach consumers and drive shopper loyalty.
  • Drive the successful implementation of our sponsorship programme and build strong relationships with the teams we work with in communities.
  • You will be responsible for driving brand partnerships with key consumer brands and trading partners to ensure McCauley can deliver strong consumer skincare, wellness and healthcare programmes to our customers.
  • You will work closely with our retail sales team and provide them with appropriate retail marketing tools and presentations to drive sales.
  • Undertake continuous analysis of the competitive retail community pharmacy environment and emerging consumer trends.
  • Responsible for the management of the marketing budget and monthly updating key stakeholders.
  • Working closely with the Buying Team to develop strong marketing campaigns to support product listings.

Leadership Capabilities:

  • Must be able to demonstrate strong people management skills
  • Must have proven examples of leadership skills and be able be able to clearly identify their management style

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Marketing / Marketing Institute of Ireland.
  • Five years plus experience in Brand Marketing.
  • Full driving licence.

Skills Required:

  • Proven track record of success in a brand manager/marketing manager role in brand focused business with strong agency management experience.
  • A genuine passion for retail.
  • Confident, driven and dynamic manager, with ability to work in dynamic and fast movingen
