POSITION:              Facility Engineer Senior

SALARY:                 $30.37 - $35.20 per hour DOE

REPORTS TO:        IT Facilities Manager

LOCATION:            Information Technology, Nespelem, WA 

Basic Functions:      This is a Non-Exempt position.  The IT Engineer Senior is a staff position serving in a mid-level capacity to Tribal departments and services and to participating agencies using Tribal systems.  The Facilities Engineering Senior provides semi-skilled services to the IT Facilities staff that includes but is not limited to negotiate telecommunications service contracts, provide Telecommunications Ops Manager, IT Division Director, Executive Director and Colville Business Council updates on telecommunication projects, and collaborate and build good rapport with other Division Directors and overall Tribal Government operations.,.  Advancement to this position is based on need and meeting the required qualifications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Training: 

• Requires an Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or Information Technology with 48 months experience OR, 
• High School Diploma, GED with 96 months AND, Experience in Facility management, HVAC, Grounding, AC/DC Power, Cabling, Fiber, Outside Plant Infrastructure,  Construction or related fields, managing projects, supervisory experience in working with teams, developing work plans, reading blueprints, understanding Building Codes and Standards. Permitting, fire suppression, fire and building alarm, Security Camera. BICSI.
• Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position:
• Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A & B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and Family Violence Convictions.
• BICSI level II Copper and Fiber or comparable

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Requires basic knowledge of terms and uses of telecommunications and networking wiring CAT5e, CAT 6 and Optical Fiber standards, troubleshooting and managing all low voltage cabling.
• Requires basic knowledge of current IT and telecommunications literature, produce solutions, cable standards, and telecommunications trends.
• Requires knowledge of networking, basic cable management and optical fiber.
• Requires knowledge of quality principles and tools, especially root cause analysis and problem solving.
• Requires skill in effectively planning, organizing, controlling and supervising the work of subordinates.
• Requires skill in establishing and communicating clear expectations regarding work performance for both the individual and/or team.
• Requires skill in a variety of communication methods to present complex issues to diverse audiences.
• Requires skill in creating an environment for improving customer satisfaction and promotes an atmosphere that establishes customer satisfaction as a key value in the organization.
