Senior Technical Intern - Mechanical Engineering

Job Summary

This internship opportunity will work closely with and assist our Design Engineering Team locally in Burnsville, MN.  The candidate will work in a cross functional team applying their knowledge in real world applications. 

Job Responsibilities

• Create sketches and 3D CAD models to convey design ideas to team
• Generate documented descriptions and presentations to convey design ideas
• Support physical builds of design prototypes for proof-of-concept test
• Support build of test fixtures in support of proof-of-concept test
• Support test plan and procedure development for testing and carry out test procedures in support of the design. Also need to document results of testing in reports to the Project Engineer and Design Team
• Support the design team in development of Technical Data Packages
• Provide mechanical drafting support for design projects and changes associated to build to print projects
• Assist the design team in review of mechanical design models, draft drawings, and supporting design documentation such as test plans/procedures, block diagrams, installation control drawings, and mechanical modelling analysis reports.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled Engineering Student with a preference for junior standing or higher
• Familiarity with basic theories behind mechanical engineering design
• Ability to use Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
• Basic experience with 3D CAD software applications
• Ability to use basic tools for assembly purposes in lab.
• Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network
• Must be diligent, hardworking, and quick to learn
