Job Description:
This position serves as a member of the MaineDOT Property Office based out of the headquarters building in Augusta, Maine.
Primary responsibilities include managing the MaineDOT CORS network by working with Trimble PIVOT software, installing GNSS reference stations for the Maine CORS network throughout the state, and maintaining those reference stations.
Secondary responsibilities include assisting with setting permanent survey control, performing topographic surveys, assisting in field collection of terrestrial, mobile, and airborne sources of lidar data, and assisting in UAS/USV survey field work. Additional responsibilities include research and acquisition of public and civil records and maintenance and calibration of sophisticated survey equipment. Work requires the ability to use complex electronic survey equipment and related software and computer skills to process survey data. Work also requires extensive knowledge of GNSS systems and maintenance of GNSS real-time networks.
Preference will be given to those with prior CORS network experience.
To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience:
Eight (8) years of experience in engineering -OR- a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and four (4) years of engineering experience -OR- an Associate Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and six (6) years of experience in engineering.
