Inventory Control Supervisor, Materials
AndurilAbout the role
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
As the Inventory Control Supervisor, you will lead the physical and system-based integrity of our warehouse operations. You will design, implement, and manage a robust inventory control program that supports Anduril's rapid manufacturing and deployment timelines. This is a warehousing-heavy role: you will not just look at spreadsheets—you will be "boots-on-the-ground," optimizing physical material slotting, strict ABC cycle count adherence, leading a team of material handlers and inventory specialists, and ensuring physical inventory matches our digital systems (ERP/WMS) with near-perfect accuracy.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in aerospace/defense warehousing, thrives in a fast-paced environment, has hands-on experience managing government property, and is passionate about building, mentoring, and scaling a high-performing warehouse team.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Lead & Develop Talent/Processes: Supervise, mentor, and build a high-performing warehouse and inventory control team. Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) and train team members on physical material handling, safety, and system transactions.
- Develop processes that increase the efficiency (speed & elimination of waste) and effectiveness of Anduril materials management.
- Implement necessary systems that match Anduril Federal policies on management of government property & inventory management.
- Drive Inventory Accuracy: Own the development and execution of a robust Cycle Count and Physical Inventory program (including ABC classification analysis) to achieve and maintain >99% inventory accuracy.
- Warehouse Slotting Optimization: Optimize picking by velocity, ensure all high-velocity parts are in ideal primary pick locations (preferably golden zone) and a replenishment program is keeping these locations stocked.
- Investigate & Resolve Discrepancies: Perform deep-dive root cause analyses on inventory variances, shipping/receiving discrepancies, and WIP bin aging. Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Systems & Data Management: Serve as the warehouse super-user for ERP and WMS systems. Ensure all physical material movements (receipts, stock transfers, issues to production) are mirrored accurately and in real-time.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with production planning and manufacturing teams to align material availability with production schedules, minimize disruptions, and meet customer demand on time.
- Safety & 5S Ownership: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment utilizing 5S methodologies. Ensure proper maintenance and safe operation of material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or materials management within an aerospace, defense, or high-volume hardware manufacturing environment.
- 1+ years of direct supervisory experience leading warehouse associates, inventory specialists, or material handlers.
- Deep understanding of cycle counting methodologies, warehouse management systems (WMS), and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Ability to be 100% onsite at Anduril’s facilities in Costa Mesa, CA.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, manufacturing or related operations field
- Strong analytical skills (Excel, SQL, or BI tools) to present inventory metrics, cycle count coverage/trends, and capacity constraints.
- Strong knowledge of AS9100 standards and OSHA laws
- Experience being hands-on and boots on the ground in the warehouse with proven skills in both process and equipment troubleshooting, and ability to adapt to constantly changing warehouse environments <
