Department Overview
The Oregon National Primate Research Center (ONPRC) is located 12 miles west of the OHSU main campus, and sits on 162 acres of land featuring forested areas, research and administration buildings, indoor and outdoor animal housing, and 2-mile perimeter walking path. Our mission is to improve human health and the quality of life through the support of nonhuman primate research programs that advance our knowledge of the causes, preventions, treatments, and cures of debilitating diseases.
Function/Duties of Position
Research:
- This position will involve laboratory benchwork, primarily focused on molecular and cell biology assays
Required Qualifications
Education:
- High School, OR
- Undergraduate Program (minimum 6 credit hours), OR
- Enrolled in or on vacation from or is otherwise registered in (check one)
- Graduate Program minimum 4.5 credit hours
Job Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Competencies):
- Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and oral formats
- Excellent collaboration skills and ability to communicate effectively with biologists
- Ability to perform data management and analysis of research findings, including use of spreadsheets and basic word processing
- Ability to prioritize work demands, and coordinate research protocols with other staff
- Organizational skills and careful attention to details to satisfactorily perform job duties
- High level of self-motivation and integrity
- Creative, thinks out-side-the-box, in developing fit-for-purpose solutions for data needs
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
- Courses in Biology

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work schedule expected to be part time, approximately 6 hours per week
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & EQUIPMENT USAGE:
Ability to lift/move equipment weighing up to 30 lbs
Ability to stand for several continuous hours
