JOB SUMMARY:
Evaluates and treats patients regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic techniques for rehabilitation of speech, language, hearing, and oral motor disorders, according to department policy and procedure. Exhibits the F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust).
WORKING CONDITIONS, HAZARDS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Works inside a typical therapy setting, outpatient clinic, or off ground/unit activities as indicated. May be required to work a flexible schedule. Exposure to stress of dealing with patients/families experiencing pain/discomfort or who have physical/mental disabilities.
CONTACTS WITH OTHERS:
Has contact with patients and patient family members, occupational therapy, physical therapy, nursing, physicians, and other department Associates.
EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
Computer, communication, therapeutic/technical skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR EQUIVALENTS:
Education:
Master's Degree in speech/language pathology or communication disorders.
Experience: Experience or completed Clinical Internship preferred.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS:
ASHA certification CCC/SLP; Kentucky Board of Speech - Language Pathology License.
