Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Orthopedics

Orthopedics in Red Wing and Cannon Falls is searching for an NP or PA to join their team! The Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant is a licensed and skilled member of the health care team who, in collaboration with a licensed physician, practices medicine in a variety of settings, performing many of the tasks traditionally carried out by a physician. The NP / PA will work to support a team of surgeons both in clinic and the operating room as needed.  Provision of care may include, but is not limited to, performing comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations, developing a differential diagnosis, ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests, and prescribing pharmacological agents and treatments. The NP / PA will also administer non-pharmacological therapies, perform procedures, and first assist in the operating room. The NP / PA will be involved in patient and family education of disease management and treatments and may also be involved in research or educational activities within their department.

Nurse Practitioner: Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner. Current Minnesota RN license and certification as a FNP or ANP.

Physician Assistant: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and licensure as a PA by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.

BLS certification required. Must be eligible for DEA registration and billing privileges

Additional Qualifications:

Preferred candidate will have 3-5 years' experience in an orthopedic practice.
