Job Description

Position Overview:

The Director of AI Strategy and Competitive Business Intelligence will be a key leader in driving AbbVie's AI strategy and competitive business intelligence in the application of AI across functions (including drug discovery, clinical development, commercial, and operations). This role requires a strategic thinker with deep, technical AI/ML experience in biopharma, who can leverage their background to: (1) co-develop and champion AbbVie’s AI strategy, (2) lead competitive business intelligence as it relates to AI/ML, (3) conduct and continually refresh AbbVie’s value chain assessment of AI/ML opportunities to inform functional roadmaps, (4) landscape and compare foundational models of relevance for AbbVie, and (5) support on high-priority strategy efforts related to AI (e.g., agentic AI strategy).

This position reports to the VP of AI Strategy and Partnerships and will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership.  This role is pivotal in driving our organization towards becoming a leader in the application of artificial intelligence, ensuring that AI initiatives align with our overarching business objectives, delivering tangible business value and accelerating our promise to patients. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Co-develop and champion AbbVie’s enterprise-wide AI strategy and technology ecosystem that aligns with the company's long-term business goals and short-term operational needs.
• Stay at the forefront of AI trends, technologies, and best practices, developing a bimonthly competitive intelligence report, in coordination with other teams that develop competitive intelligence across AbbVie, e.g., Commercial Digital, R&D, BTS, and Corporat
