About the role

This position is responsible and accountable for the coordination of patient care as patients arrive from a referring medical office through scheduling and registering for their services at the Issaquah Highlands facility.  This position performs a variety of front office clerical and pre-business services within the hospital setting.  Primary responsibilities include patient registration, patient scheduling activities, acquiring insurance verifications and Physician orders, referrals, and triaging phone calls, exceptional customer service, excellent communication and problem solving skills around patient care matters are vital.  This position acts as a professional liaison with patients, families, other departments and clinics. This position also acts as an informational resource regarding services available at Swedish Medical Center.  This individual must demonstrate critical thinking skills, be able to work independently, and perform responsibilities in a timely and accurate matter. This individual will partner in the orientation and training of new staff. These tasks are often carried out simultaneously with frequent interruption.  In addition, this job may include other special project assignments as directed.  All duties accomplished with an exceptional customer service approach (AIDET) to optimize the patient and family experience at Swedish Medical Center.

Required Qualifications:

  • 1 year recent receptionist or front desk experience in a health care field
  • Experience with medical terminology and basic medical record processes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent educ/experience
    • equivalent from a college or technical school
  • Upon hire: Medical Terminology Certification
  • Medical insurance & billing experience
  • Experience with computerized scheduling or relational databases

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
