Associate Researcher (Dr Thomas Zwaka's Lab) - Cell Developmental & Regenerative Biology
Mount Sinai Health SystemAbout the role
She/He's role in the research study will be multifaceted and critical. The main focus of her/his work will be on characterizing the molecular properties of pluripotent stem cells. She/He will employ advanced RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) techniques and other state-of-the-art tools to unravel the complex molecular dynamics of these cells. This aspect of her/his research is poised to contribute significantly to our understanding of stem cell biology and its potential therapeutic applications
In addition to molecular characterization, Elisa will be instrumental in the development of new induced pluripotent stem cell lines. Her/His work in this area will specifically target the study of diabetes and infectious diseases, exploring how stem cells can be used to understand and potentially treat these conditions. This is particularly exciting as it opens new avenues for medical research and potential therapies in areas of significant public health concern.
- Designing and conducting experiments involving RNA-seq and other molecular biology techniques to characterize pluripotent stem cells.
- Developing and maintaining new induced pluripotent stem cell lines, with a focus on applications in diabetes and infectious disease research.
- Collaborating with other team members to integrate her/his findings into our broader research objectives.
- Contributing to the writing of research papers, reports, and grants to communicate our findings to the scientific community.
- Staying updated with the latest developments in stem cell research and incorporating new techniques and approaches into her/his work.
