Typical Responsibilities of a Program Manager
- Technical Program Managers utilize dynamic range and technical expertise to drive product launches through the entire software development lifecycle, including technical strategy and integration, workstream decomposition, timelines, dependency management, reporting, and delivery risk mitigation.
- Build close relationships with software engineers, product managers, other teams, and key business partners to understand product priorities and ensure that all technical deliverables are met on a consistent basis.
- TPMs optimize the delivery schedule focused on project priorities, make tough tactical decisions, and build trust with stakeholders by maintaining an understandable, accurate roadmap. They ensure a quality release, triaging bugs and issues that arise with efficacy and expediency and maintaining alignment with a sense of urgency and ownership. A collaborative “can-do” attitude is essential to making an impact in this role.
- Drive the automation roadmap & delivery for a new Manufacturing site.
- Defining Product Requirements
- Deeply understand customer and business needs and translate to technical requirements and develop the product’s trajectory, required resources, and budgets
- Understanding of design and integration of data and systems using PLC programs, robotics, and sensor technologies.
- TPMs will identify cross-functional and cross-team dependencies and devise strategies to solve these challenges both at an organizational and technical level.
- TPMs allocate tasks and designate responsibilities as necessary to ensure product delivery success. To that end, TPMs make resource-related decisions by identifying specific skill sets of engineers and fill gaps as needed
- Determining Product Timelines and Reporting
- Honoring product timelines is key to timely delivery. TPMs carefully plan timelines based on product priority, complexity, and various other factors. They also regularly monitor the progress of specific product tasks.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field OR 5 years of equivalent professional experience in lieu of a degree or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Machine Learning
- 5+ years of project management experience
- Minimum 7 years of relevant job experience.
- Biotech and/or FDA-regulated experience.
- Understanding of automation technologies, including robotics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data analytics.
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts and technologies
- Experience working in an Agile environment, including Jira expertise
- Prior experience in budgeting and project reporting
- Domain expertise in several of: Automation technologies for Manufacturing and Supply Chain in a regulated environment
- Demonstrated success in representing the voice of the customer
- Self-directed and self-motivated; excellent communicator and collaborator
- Demonstrated ability to channel many points of view negotiating, cultivating and growing partnerships
- Strong technical abilities; experienced with modern software development practices used to build and deploy applications
- Experience working in life sciences, pharma/biotech, or high-tech industries with a preference for experience
- Experience in a regulated environment
- Proven ability to navigate a matrix organization structure to influence without direct reporting relationships
