Job Summary:
The CCMA Instructor is more than an educator — this role is a mentor, clinical role model, and career coach who delivers the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) curriculum to adult learners (18+) entering the healthcare field through Skilled US's 12-week Integrated Education and Training (IET) cohort. This part-time role meets learners where they are and moves them toward the nationally recognized NHA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) credential and entry-level employment in clinical settings. This role is built on hands-on clinical training, where learners learn by doing in a lab environment that mirrors real clinical practice. Anchored in the twelve-module CCMA sequence (CMA-101–CMA-112), the instructor integrates clinical skills, safety and compliance standards,
and professional patient-communication habits the healthcare field demands. Beyond technical training, learners gain the employability skills — reliability, communication, and professionalism — that are essential in both life and work.
The NHA CCMA Credential — Heart of This Role
This is an NHA CCMA instructional role. The instructor delivers all twelve modules of the
Clinical Medical Assistant sequence and guides learners from foundational anatomy and clinical safety through phlebotomy, clinical procedures, pharmacology, and administrative skills, culminating in the NHA CCMA written and practical competency assessments in Week 12.
CCMA modules taught include: Medical Terminology & Anatomy (CMA-101), Infection Control & Clinical Safety (CMA-102), Vital Signs & Patient Assessment (CMA-103), Phlebotomy & Specimen Collection (CMA-104), Clinical Procedures I — Injections & Wound Care (CMA-105), Clinical Procedures II — EKG & Respiratory (CMA-106), Laboratory Skills & CLIA-Waived Testing (CMA-107), Pharmacology & Medication Administration (CMA-108), Medical Law, Ethics & Patient Rights (CMA-109), EHR, Administrative Skills & Billing Basics (CMA-110), Patient Communication & Cultural Competency (CMA-111), and Quality Assurance, Capstone & NHA CCMA Assessment (CMA-112).
- Holds an active, unrestricted clinical credential and maintains current knowledge of NHA CCMA exam content and standards.
- Applies adult-learning principles (andragogy) to a 12-week cohort of adult learners, many of whom are new to the healthcare field, without lowering the credentialing bar.
- Builds a clear pathway from CCMA certification into clinical employment or continued allied-health education.

- Supervise and support learners in the clinical training lab, enforcing OSHA bloodbornepathogen standards, infection control, and patient-safety protocols at all times.
- Administer the NHA CCMA written knowledge and hands-on practical competency assessments at the end of Module 12 (Week 12)
