Knitting Shift Lead (Monday to Thursday - 2nd shift: from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.)

Sigvaris is currently looking for a Knitting Shift Lead to join our team in Peachtree City, GA.  As a leading compression solution provider, we are not just a company that manufactures products.  We are a global team on a mission to help people feel their best.  The Knitting Shift Lead is responsible for the general repair of hosiery knitting machines to ensure first quality products are produced to company specifications.  Coordinates production employees to be most productive and provide oversight to day-to-day activities and goals.

SHIFT:

     • Monday to Thursday

     • 2nd: 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.*

*Training during the first few weeks will be during the 1st shift.  Hours will be from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

PAY PLUS BONUS:

     • Hourly pay plus shift differential.  

     • Opportunity to earn $100 Attendance Bonus payments per quarter. *

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     • Performs required/needed maintenance to knitting machines to ensure machines are operating in good working order.

     • Addresses machine stops to keep machines operating efficiently.

     • Performs preventive maintenance as outlined in weekly PM sheets.

     • Follows proper procedures to ensure product is knit to specifications.

     • Responsible for setup/sizing of different styles/series on machines and ensure proper sizing to spec before release to production.

     • Supports the SIGVARIS quality system and quality policy by following work instructions, procedures and the accurate fulfillment of required forms to meet all internal and external requirements.

     • Assists the other teams on shift by helping when resources are needed.

     • Assists with the training of new personnel in the department.

     • Works toward meeting the production and quality goals as set by management.

     • Assists the knitter with yarn tickets, creel loading, inspection and paperwork.

     • Performs miscellaneous tasks and jobs as directed by the Supervisor/Shift Lead.

     • Utilizes shift reports to address known stop issues of machines and the pro-active approach of addressing them.

     • Fosters positive morale among staff, by promotion of open communication with all departments, to help create and maintain an innovative and cooperative staff relationship and environment.

          o Interacts with external and internal customers in a timely manner conducive to continued positive relationships.

          o Displays patience, courtesy and tact; demonstrates flexibility, enthusiasm and willingness to cooperate while working with others or in place of others as necessary.

     • Demonstrates effective communication methods.

          o Supervisor and/or appropriate management staff are kept informed of developments affecting their functions.

          o Maintains and encourages an open line of communication with both internal and external customers.

          o Accurately and legibly presents written data to affected internal/external customer.

     • Follows established company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with SIGVARIS policies, industry standards, ISO 13485 standards, 6S and Lean Manufacturing, and Federal, State and local laws.

     • Assists with the implementation of Lean/Kaizen initiatives or events in the department.

     • Follows all work instructions, creates and maintains accurate records to meet all internal and external requirements to support the SIGVARIS Quality System and Quality Policy.

     • Accurately performs any other duties and responsibilities as assigned to ensure an efficient workflow.

     • Allocates appropriate resources, both people and equipment, to sustain production throughout and quality to meet and/or exceed production demands.

      • Ensures production operates under minimal distraction with an increased level of preparedness.

      • Conducts walkarounds, providing observation, support and visibility to all production departments during assigned shift.

      • Monitors employees to ensure each job is performed correctly and efficiently.   

      • Maintains machines operating efficiently by addressing machine stops.

      • Works closely with other shifts to ensure a smooth transition during production handovers.

      • Supports and enforces all company policies, procedures and safety guidelines.

      • Assists with the training or re-training of employees to standardize, make more efficient and to meet ISO requirements for the employees' job.
