About the role

Amazon is seeking a Senior Supply Chain Manager to identify, develop and integrate innovative solutions and programs that lead to improvements that redefine the standards for customer experience in our North American transportation network. Amazon transportation encompasses all of the operations that deliver shipments from our fulfillment centers and third party locations to customers worldwide.

The Senior Supply Chain Manager, Transportation Execution will be responsible for partnering with key stakeholders in Network Transportation planning processes, ranging from First, Middle, and Last Mile planning and strategic planning teams across the North America Transportation Network. The focus of this role is to align across stakeholders to drive a Network strategy that will achieve network KPI targets including cost, speed, capacity and others. Other projects will include creating and improving mechanisms to bring visibility into risks and opportunities in the network, and works across stakeholders to implement actions to mitigate risks to achieve the aforementioned KPI’s of the network plan. Key job responsibilities
- Stakeholder Management of multiple planning teams, many of which working in vastly different networks and each requiring a different level of understanding of their businesses.
- Manage large datasets and deep dive varying plans from stakeholders for deeper understanding and challenge planning assumptions as needed to steer towards network goals
- Assess process improvement and create/standardize mechanisms to maximize planning cycle times efficiency and reduce lead times for planning as applicable
- Partner with process owners and stakeholders to scope opportunities, define problem statements and objectives, and structure projects
- Educate and partner with stakeholders who are required to follow internal team processes when submitting planning inputs. Including when external stakeholder turnover occurs to ensure smooth transition.
- Create Network plans and validate the details of all individual inputs that go into Network planning, to ensure planning outputs are made with validated and understood inputs from stakeholders
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with stakeholder partners, among planning teams, execution teams, and finance teams to ensure trusting working relationships
- Manage communications for internal and external stakeholders on project status, and planning updates
- Make key decisions and/or recommendations concerning strategies and escalations as needed

Basic Qualifications


- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- 5+ years of supply chain experience
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics or related field
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.
- Intermediate proficiency in SQL, including compile queries, subqueries, aggregation/grouping, data modification, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

- 5+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics or related field
- Organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions
- High level familiarity with data mining or machine learning
- Experience developing forecasting models
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders and driving consensus
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
