Basic Qualifications
Associate's degree is required plus a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Facilities Technician to join our team in supporting critical operations for a leading defense contractor. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the functionality of our facility’s systems, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for our team. You will play a key role in supporting a wide range of facility operations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems, while working closely with our engineering and operations teams to meet the high standards expected in the defense industry. Your contributions will directly impact the success and security of our operations, offering a rewarding opportunity in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:
As Principal Maintenance Technician for General Dynamics Mission Systems, you will become a member of a cross functional team responsible for supporting Infrastructure and Facility operations. We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences: Commercial HVAC Technician, MEP repairs, Building maintenance.
- As a key member of the Facilities team, you will regularly perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks to support the daily business operation.
- You will have daily interaction with the facilities team, contractors, and business employees ensuring a team-based approach to supporting facility needs
- You will work on a variety of tasks including repair and maintenance on: HVAC Chillers, Boilers, Air Handlers, BMS Systems, Electrical distribution systems, Pneumatic supply and distribution systems, and Plumbing Systems.
- General tasks like using a company vehicle to transfer items between sites or pick up materials from vendors
- Operate and maintain electronic systems including Facility ticket systems and Microsoft Office tools
- Secret Level Clearance or Eligibility to obtain required
