Gartner Analysts are industry thought leaders who create must-have research, market predictions and best practices for a broad range of world-leading organizations. A VP serves as a leader within Gartner and within their industry, making them a trusted source of advice for clients. As the market expert, a VP not only produces innovative, pragmatic and provocative research content, but also serves as a decision-maker and leader of cross team and cross practice research initiatives. They also engage with clients directly through virtual and in-person interactions, meetings, conferences and industry events. Through these engagements, they challenge clients to reframe their thinking across key initiatives, interpret contextual realities and propose new ways to obtain data in order to diagnose and/or solve complex problems and improve client performance.

What will you do:

Gartner is looking for a seasoned analyst to join the Enterprise Architecture Technology Innovation Team. In this capacity you will provide research and advisory support to global clients in the US, EMEA and beyond as well as help drive our team’s focus on the Head of Enterprise Architecture.  Your experience as a Head of Enterprise Architecture, with a focus on emerging technology strategy and implementation will be critical to success in this role. 

We are looking for someone with experience leading or running an Enterprise Architecture team.  The ideal candidate will be able to use their experience as a leader to shape the research for Enterprise Architects, while also contributing to the emerging technology and innovation content and how these activities deliver impact to the business.

This includes:

  • Research and represent thought leadership and advise Heads of Enterprise Architecture, Technology Leaders and Business Leaders and their leadership teams on:
    • The definition, strategy and use cases for emerging technologies.
    • Strategy and management of technology related innovations, and processes.
    • Effectiveness and strategy of the Enterprise Architecture function.
    • Pragmatic application/use cases for new technologies.
  • Remain ahead of the curve on developments and issues within these specified areas as well as applicable adjacent areas of intelligent and emerging technologies.
  • Deliver high quality actionable advice through face-to-face and video-based presentations and discussions with clients.
  • Conduct innovative, fact-based, “must-have research” and analysis around clients’ key initiatives.
  • Write high quality, clear, actionable, advisory research document
  • Proactively support Advisory, Research Engagement Services (RES), Sales and Service and other internal stakeholders across relevant research key initiatives to help clients and prospects
  • As an industry leader, represent Gartner research, methodology, and strategy
  • Create and deliver high value presentations on and off stage for Gartner events, industry and professional association conferences, and client briefings targeting senior level executives
  • Research, analyze and predict expected (and foresee unexpected) market trends and shifts to provide clients and vendors with actionable insights
  • Use creative and innovative analytical or diagnostic approaches; leverage less obvious synergies and encourage colleagues to find and consider alternate interpretations of information
  • Lead and influence internal projects, special roles and processes driving decisions on highly complex issues to create the best research and advice, and optimize Gartner's business

What you will need:

To thrive in this role, it helps if you are obsessed with your topic! Gartner analysts are correctly viewed as THE experts. This means you need to know your markets, vendors, trends, management practices, etc. and be able to see the forest and the trees.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 20+ years of relevant field or industry experience
  • Excellent collaborator with the ability to quickly build rapport and gain client trust.
  • Confident presenter with a high level of executive presence; experience in presentation creation and delivery
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to process information quickly and make actionable recommendations.
  • Willing to challenge conventional norms and views.
  • Knowledge of the global and competitive landscape, and the interplay in that landscape
  • Demonstrate excellence in research and writing ability
  • Proven ability to develop new business developme
