Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Leads, coaches, and motivates team to ensure effective compensation and payroll operations in support of business priorities.
  • Leverages subject matter expertise and industry best practices to shape the Company’s compensation strategy, structure, and philosophy.
  • Collaborates with senior leaders to incorporate compensation and recognition functions into an effective Total Rewards strategy.
  • Designs, improves, and oversees programs including base pay, incentive, bonus, merit, equity, and award programs in close partnership with P&C business partners.
  • Educates P&C partners, including recruiters and business partners, on compensation best practices to empower decision making and autonomy.
  • Guides in-depth compensation analysis and modeling for all compensation programs and utilizes data to influence strategic people and compensation direction.
  • Ensures that the company's pay practices comply with changing local, state and federal regulations, including the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and all payroll-related statutory reporting and tax requirements.
  • Partner strategically with Finance, Compliance, and Legal teams to align compensation and payroll operations with organizational goals.
  • Monitors and reviews payroll-related metrics and reports to identify trends, discrepancies, or improvement opportunities.
  • Partners with the Payroll Manager to address and resolve escalated payroll issues and inquiries.
  • Leads or supports payroll-related audits, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to internal controls.
  • Communicates effectively with team members and leadership to ensure transparency and understanding of compensation and payroll processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 8+ years of related work experience, including at least 2 years of leadership experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role
  • 1 -3 years in a payroll management role processing end to end in-house payroll.
  • Compensation experience with demonstrated ability to design, implement, administer, and evaluate programs (CCP preferred)
  • Payroll experience with working knowledge of federal, state, FICA and local tax withholdings laws and regulations. (CPP preferred)
  • Experience with Workday including Workday Payroll required.
  • Ability to gain alignment and represent a common point of view across multiple partners
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to cater message to a variety of audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to use critical and strategic thinking to anticipate and resolve problems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software and experience with HRIS systems (preferably Workday)
  • Ability to impact results, oversee and prioritize team’s workload, delegate clearly and effectively
  • Skilled in developing strategic relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and peers
  • Proven ability to coach, develop, guide, mentor, and support a cross-functional team
  • Strong analytic and quantitative skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
