Summary

The Appointment Scheduler provides the patient with the first glimpse of Panorama. They extend a listening ear and anticipate the needs of the patient by surpassing their expectations with exceptional customer service. This position is knowledgeable in our provider’s preferences and schedules, insurance and the Electronic Health Record. They must utilize multiple software systems simultaneously. They are prompt and courteous with our patients and partnering facilities. The right person for this role will be team oriented, service-minded and empathetic in their approach to our patients and their families.

Position Overview

Participates in delivery of orthopedic care by coordinating clinical appointments with providers for patients, referring physicians and facilities. 

Essential Functions

· Provide excellent customer service through all interactions as scheduling contact for clinic appointments.

· Respond effectively and promptly to all patient, provider and team member requests.

· Provides accurate and courteous information regarding our clinic and physicians to all callers. 

· Obtain accurate demographic and insurance information necessary to schedule appointments.

· Maintain/Update patient information and working knowledge of insurance protocols.

· Knowledge of physician preferences and schedules

· Patient outreach after receipt of primary physician referrals, tasks and procedures.

Key Qualifications

o Excellent customer service and computer skills.

o Exceptional communication skills.

o Ability to organize and prioritize.

Other Requirements

o Previous experience in medical office preferred.

Pay Information: $17.69 to $21.63/hour, based on experience

Knowledge/Skills Abilities Required

· Knowledge of EHR system. 

· Type at least 50 WPM. 

· Excellent interpersonal communication skills. 

· Some medical terminology knowledge helpful. 

· Attention to detail a requirement. 

· Must be able to spell accurately. 

· Strong organizational skills.  

· Ability to multi-task and prioritize. 

· Ability to work well with others in a team driven environment 

Salary Description 18.00 to 20.00
