Description of Work
Unleash your potential and join our team to make a significant impact!The Grants Section ensures fiscal accountability and compliance for federal, state, private, and other grant funding sources through effective cash management, reporting, and financial oversight. The Accounting Specialist supports the Grants Manager in the daily administration of grant operations and accounting functions. Key responsibilities include:
~ Assisting with grant processing, accounting operations, and financial reporting.
~ Monitoring grant budgets, expenditures, and cash drawdowns to ensure compliance.
~ Preparing reconciliations, accounting entries, financial analyses, and reports.
~ Maintaining internal controls and ensuring adherence to policies and regulations.
~ Providing financial guidance and policy interpretation to division staff.
~ Utilizing NCFS, General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, and E-Procurement systems to support daily operations.

Salary Range: $45,431-$79,504

· Documented working knowledge of accounting and reporting practices.
· Experience maintaining spreadsheets and databases, including importing and exporting data.
· Experience assisting in interpreting and analyzing accounting data in various aspects of grants.
· Experience applying analysis to the departmental or institutional needs and determining compliance with pertinent guidelines, rules, regulations, and laws.
· Experience maintaining effective working relationships with representatives of related contact agencies, departmental staff, and the general public.
· Experience communicating effectively in oral and written form.
