About the role

Reporting to the President North America, this position manages and directs the ~30 Regional Operational Units across North America, with gross revenues of $300+ million as well as direct and indirect headcount of 3000+ employees. This position is responsible for providing full leadership and operational accountability for the units’ performance and P&L achievement. Further accountability would consist of all unit compliance requirements surrounding Health & Safety, Security and Customs responsibilities as well as people development and engagement.- Accountable for all aspects of the Regional Operations
- Drives positive operational relationships with all customers
- Demonstrates financial acumen by ensuring budgets and forecasts are created accurately, communicated out, responsibility aligned and delivered
- Coordinates with the Commercial teams on current and new business opportunities
- Monitors, reviews, guides direct reports to work together as a high performing teams
- Continually develops and improves the skills of the employees by working with the Regional HR team, Learning & Development and by mentoring and coaching the unit Management teams
- Takes full ownership to lead compliance adherence of all units to all regulatory, customer and internal policies and procedures
- Identifies root causes of any situation which occurs and creates a robust action plan to work through to implement sustainable solutions
- Justifies proposals/business cases for expenditure to improve the business unit
- Identifies, and leads where appropriate, continuous process improvement initiatives that drive productivity & accuracy in the units
- Works with the Regional HRD & Area HRD’s for all HR policies & procedures, for example salary review processes, labor relations & recruitment.
- Monitors recruitment to ensure that the units have the right people in the right place at the right time
- Puts into practice operational policies and decisions that come from the North American Leadership Team, maintaining alignment with company and divisional policy and procedures
- Ensures customer service and/or account management for the units
- Demonstrates innovation and makes changes to the operation to further improve the work environment and unit performance, as appropriate
