To join our team as a Senior Building Science Consultant responsible for leading and supporting technical aspects of the residential energy efficiency program based in Oregon. CLEAResult seeks a candidate with leadership, relationship-building, project management and the customer service skills to grow with our programs and community impacts. This position will be part of a program delivery team responsible for implementing innovative and equitable residential energy-efficiency programs on behalf of a client serving customers in Oregon and SW Washington.

The Senior Building Science Consultant will be accountable for training staff, program partners and acting as the program’s technical expert. The ideal candidate will display a passion for accelerating the adoption of residential energy efficiency upgrades for customers experiencing lower-incomes, rural and communities of color.

  • Act as a residential program technical lead by:
    • Training and supporting internal staff, third-party home energy assessors, and community partners on incorporating critical repairs, health and safety measures, and weatherization into home energy efficiency projects.
    • Providing guidance on conducting assessments, developing scopes of work, and reviewing and approving contractor bids.
    • Serving as a technical resource for best practices to address unique site challenges.
    • Training and supporting internal staff, third-party home energy assessors, and community partners on incorporating energy modeling into home energy efficiency projects.
  • Lead program development by:
    • Standardizing and refining project scopes of work, bid review processes, and protocols for determining when projects should be deferred due to excessive maintenance issues or hazards.
    • Supporting planned initiatives and introducing new ideas to expand program reach and address funding gaps for comprehensive home energy upgrades.
  • Develop and deliver weatherization training by:
    • Creating training content and conducting sessions on weatherization and healthy homes.
    • Training and mentoring other members of the training team to strengthen program delivery.
  • Build and maintain relationships:
    • Act as the primary point of contact with key state and regional training and weatherization assistance providers.
    • Facilitate connections between these organizations, community partners, and the contractor network.
  • Continue program enhancements by:
    • Supporting the development and launch of a moderate-income program offering to increase accessibility for additional communities.
  • Support programs to level-up internal capacity to deliver free energy upgrades and equity-focused services in underserved communities.
  • Mentor and guide a team of home energy assessors and program implementation staff in supporting customers through audits and upgrades.
  • Develop trusted partnerships with client, customers, community-based organizations, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Prepare, analyze, and review reports and metrics to track program performance and goal achievement.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to clients informed by qualitative and quantitative feedback.
