About the role

Oracle Customer Success Services is recruiting for a Business Development Professional with extensive experience in the U.S. federal government market, Aerospace and Defense, and State/Local/Higher Education. This role delivers actionable leads, mature opportunities, and strong customer relationships tailored to the highly regulated and government industries. Solid experience working for a government technology and service provider in an IT product and/or services leadership role is required. Having worked in U.S. federal government civilian and defense departments in leading and/or managing technology modernization and digital transformation programs is a plus for this position.

Responsible for the identification of relevant new business opportunities and designs "go-to-market" plan to deliver measurable and significant revenues. Pursues sales opportunities in the market, and carries the baton in the beginning of the sales cycle.

What you will need:

  • Ten plus (10+) years of experience. This could be a combination of working in one or several hi-tech commercial organizations providing IT products, IT services, consulting, system integration, AND/OR IT research focused on the US federal government market, AND preferably also in U.S. federal government agencies and departments (ideally in an enterprise IT buying and decision- making position).
  • Deep understanding of government procurement processes and contracting relevant to technology and service providers selling to U.S. federal government
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis, writing, data visualization and presentation skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high quality deliverables
  • Demonstrate excellence in presentation and writing ability
  • Strong communicator who can explain complex concepts concisely and simply
  • Presentation skills as evidenced by prior work experience presenting to or advising senior executives, investors, boards, or industry peers.
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, engineering, computer science or related field as well as an MBA or Master of Science (or comparable) preferred.

A Business Development Representative is assigned to strategic accounts which may be grouped by industry where Oracle has a limited presence. Acts as primary liaison between Consulting, Sales, and Oracle Development for the product's sales opportunities. Generates business opportunities through prospecting mass market programs and leveraging third party partners. Develops and coordinates a worldwide relationship with customers that establishes Oracle as a preferred vendor and optimizes Oracle's sales of product. Executes aggressive strategies and plans to successfully drive the product as the preferred customer selection. Provides account representatives with information on how the product addresses specific needs, and assists account representatives in using Oracle's products to leverage large revenue opportunities. Assists in articulating product message, coordinates technical resources and hands off deals to a successful close.

 

What you will do:

  • Help Oracle sales teams grow their business in the U.S. federal government, Aerospace and Defense, and SLED market by providing research, insights and advisory services on areas such as:
    • Market dynamics and go-to-market strategies based on a keen understanding of what government enterprise IT users want and need
    • Competitive landscape for Oracle and Customer Success Services
    • Technical and business buyer behavior and buying criteria
    • Messaging that resonate with government buyers and decision makers
  • Keep abreast of policy developments that have a significant impact on U.S. government markets as well as major related public sector markets
  • Provide sales support by engaging with prospective and existing clients virtually or face-to face and by delivering impactful messaging based on client needs
  • Understand relevant cyber security requirements and work with cross functional teams to identify opportunities to the unique needs of the public sector market.

US: Hiring Range: from $105,000 to $185,200 per annum. May be eligible for equity. Eligible for commission with an estimated pay mix of 60/40 - 70/30.
