Job Summary
Accountant II
Plan, conduct, and participate in analysis of cost assignments, ensuring that all assigned projects adhere to accepted cost accounting standards. Recommend changes in cost accounting methods, procedures, and systems. Conduct cost audits and variance analysis, and act as liaison with other departments.

Perform general staff accountant duties related to the University’s real estate portfolio. Keep records of building repairs, tenant files, respond to a variety of accounting-related questions such as inquiries from vendors about invoice status, answer questions on payment or purchasing documents, travel, and Pcard transactions.
Maintain fiscal records for each fiscal year and support audits and internal control reviews.
Manage GFA access, chartfields, and activity lifecycle reporting, opening/closing, endowment transfers, wire transfers.
Prepares and assesses budget, revenue, expense, payroll and journal entries, and produce other accounting documents to process invoices and reimbursements for payment.
Minimum Qualifications

EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Accountants II: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.
Preferences
Bachelors Degree in business, accounting or finance, one year full time paid accounting work with similar responsibilities.
