Summary Description

The HR Generalist plays a crucial role in supporting the human resources function within our organization. This multifaceted position combines HR metric reporting with HR generalist duties, requiring a versatile skill set and a deep understanding of the HR landscape. As a HR Generalist, you will be an integral part of the HR team, contributing to the overall success of the organization by attracting top talent and supporting HR initiatives. You will be responsible for managing the HRIS system for KINA, monthly HR metric reporting, onboarding new hire employees while also providing support in various HR areas, ensuring the smooth functioning of the company’s HR processes at our Winchester, VA, and Newark, OH sites

Key Responsibilities:

Essential duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. HR Metric reporting: Produce monthly HR metric reports detailing key performance indicators for our company and UK division, ensuring compliance with European regulations.
  2. HR Support: Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR policies and procedures, and programs. Address employee inquiries related to benefits, compensation, leaves of absence, and other HR-related matters. Assist in the administration of HR Programs, such as employee onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, employee relations and training initiatives.
  3. Compliance: Ensure compliance with local labor laws, regulations, and internal policies. Stay updated on HR legal requirements and make recommendations to ensure adherence. Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures to maintain a fair and inclusive work environment.
  4. HR Administration: Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality. Process HR-related documents, including employment contracts, offer letters, and performance evaluations. Support the HR team in creating and maintaining HR reports and metrics.
  5. HR Projects: Participate in HR projects, such as employee engagement, policy development, and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes and systems to enhance the overall employee experience.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience needed. Prefer experience recruiting for a manufacturing environment, or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the above knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Experience as a Recruiter or HR Generalist, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with HR policies and procedures, and employment laws.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and applicant tracking software.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Manage administrative responsibilities for employee files.

Essential Duties

  1. Ensure accurate HR metric reporting is completed monthly for KINA and the Division.
  2. Manage new employee onboarding and employee file administration.
  3. Assist with full life cycle recruiting for Winchester & Newark open positions. Manages candidate communication, and experience throughout the entire hiring process to ensure a positive candidate experience and position the company as the employer of choice.
  4. Revises job descriptions as needed and assists with HR audits.
  5. Work closely with HR Manager to assist with employee relations, employee engagement and to ensure consistent HR visibility to all shifts.
  6. Assists in the development of training programs.
