Our Fraud team strives to build trust with our members by performing all aspects of fraud monitoring and investigations. The team works diligently monitoring accounts and transactions to keep fraud and nefarious behavior off the platform, ensuring all members have the most secure and seamless experience using HoneyBook’s financial products. You will be a part of a small, rapidly growing team where your fraud intuition, feedback, and customer advocacy will be used to shape the team and make an impact at the company and for our members.   

Here are a few of the things you will do:

  • Perform daily reviews to minimize fraudulent transactions and vendors on the platform 
  • Contact members via phone and/or email to validate account information and/or transaction activity
  • Provide ongoing fraud support to the Member Experience team
  • Partner with Disputes on investigating fraud trends stemming from incoming chargebacks
  • Own and project manage strategic initiatives affecting our team and the broader company 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to impact change and influence decisions  
  • Train new team members on fraud processes, and handle fraud escalations from the team
  • Provide preventative measure recommendations to mitigate new and emerging fraud trends 

Here is what we’re looking for in a candidate:

  • Curiosity and passion for fraud prevention: if something seems off, you want to investigate what’s going on and solve root problems
  • Passion for continuous learning and willingness to provide domain expertise to cross functional partners as our company grows its product and features 
  • Understand the importance of excellent customer service via telephone and email
  • You’re a self starter that can manage time effectively and prioritize workload

Here is what is needed:

  • 2+ years specific fintech experience in Fraud 
  • Proven track record identifying and screening for suspicious/ fraudulent transactions
  • Critical thinking and data-based decision making skills
  • Successfully contributed to early stage teams where processes and products are evolving
  • Comfortable navigating multiple screens and systems simultaneously

  • Compensation: We offer a competitive salary + meaningful equity based on merit. The base range for this position in the Bay Area is $72,000-90,000.
