Job Description

AHRC NYC is seeking a passionate Job Coach to join our Employment Services Program, dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving meaningful employment. The Job Coach is the central figure in the success of our workers, providing training, evaluation, and counseling across a wide variety of jobs at independent businesses and through contracts AHRC holds with various entities.

Location: Bronx

Job Type: Part-time, 10-20 hours per week, (must be available at least 2 weekdays + weekends)

Payrate: $20/hour

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of 5-6 clients, primarily in the field (90% of time spent at job sites).
  • Teach, assist, and support new workers in their jobs using techniques such as demonstration of tasks, modeling, counseling, observation, and discussion.
  • Provide training and support to workers with disabilities, ensuring their success in their roles.
  • Travel to route new workers from home to job sites.
  • Write detailed service notes after each session to monitor client progress and outcomes.

Qualifications

  • One year experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
  • Flexibility in work hours and ability to respond to the scheduling needs of the individual. May include early morning, evening and/or weekend hours.
  • Direct Support Professional (DSP) experience preferred
  • Understanding of Person Centered Planning.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, including effective writing and oral communication skills.
  • High school diploma or GED.
