Department Overview
Gas Operations is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of natural gas to our customers. Gas Operations is responsible for all aspects of PG&E’s gas distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration, and emergency response.
 

Position Summary
The GTGC Construction Engineering Construction Manager (CM) is responsible for supporting new construction and repair projects performed by internal GTGC resources. The CM may work with GTGC Construction Supervisors and CMs to identify work for the GTGC portfolio and consults on project feasibility and project site details. The CM may also prepare job packages and construction estimates, conduct job walks, and meet with bidders, contractors, and governing agencies. The GTGC Engineering CM is also responsible for serving as the GTGC liaison to Project Engineering, Pipeline Services, and Project Management. In this role they may attend PMO Work Stream, Work Allocation, and various other stakeholder meetings. The CM may also serve as a construction SME for process improvement initiatives. The CM will also function as a lead in GT GC to continuously improve on project cost controls and to ensure consistency amongst the group.
Applies broad expertise to work on projects in multiple disciplines such as civil, electrical, process instrumentation and pipeline construction management with a high degree of knowledge and ability.

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $126,000.
Bay Area Maximum: $200,000.
&/OR
California Minimum: $120,000.
California Maximum: $190,000.

 
Job Responsibilities
• Provide cost control oversight to GT GC reporting system wide through providing oversight and direction to PCA’s supporting GT GC work, ensuring cost reports are consistent and accurate, providing oversight on GT GC’s PCO submittals. 
• Works closely with Project Managers and Gas Operation Supervisors to understand construction targets and identify potential projects for the GTGC portfolio.
• Compiles and interprets internal drawings and relevant data for Construction teams. Following start of construction, consults and supports mitigation of schedule issues with construction supervisors.
• Attends job scope walk downs, leads job scope discussions, and attends 30/60/90 design reviews by Engineering to provide constructability input. Participates in formal job walk downs with Project Managers and/or Gas Operation Supervisors to review the IFC (Issued for Construction) drawings and discuss schedule and target dates.
• Addresses all communication and project documentation with Construction Supervisors and participates in meetings at the job site.
• Utilize workload management database, update any assigned projects, and reviews workload analysis reports for action.
• Acts as point of contact for Construction Supervisors, ensures the construction plan and assigned resources are adequate to deliver the highest value. Obtains any information, resources, services, or materials needed to maintain the construction workflow, budget and schedule from Project Coordinator, Engineering, Contracts, or other internal PG&E teams.
• Serves as a GTGC liaison to Project Engineering, Pipeline Services, and Project Management.
• Communicates any engineering and design issues with Project Coordination and Engineering, seeks or makes decisions on any change affecting cost and schedule according to the DOA. 

Qualifications
Minimum:

• Bachelor’s degree in construction, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience 
• Job-related experience, 5 years
• Ability to travel up to 50 percent of working time.
