Summary/Objective
The Lead Wastewater Operator will assist in the daily operations of the Land Application System and serve as a back-up for the Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator.
Essential Functions

- Operates and assists LAS personnel with the operations of the following systems: Process Water, Wastewater, SCADA and PLC based control systems, data collection and reporting.
- Assists with the collection and handling of water, wastewater, stormwater, and soil samples; testing of physical and chemical properties, as well as preparation for transport to contract laboratories; calibration, maintenance, and proper use of various meters and test equipment.
- Assists in the troubleshooting and repairs of pumps, motors, valves, aerators, and other devices and components.
- Spray field and landscape maintenance including grass, trees, shrubbery, erosion control, etc.
- Keep bar screens clear of lint and debris daily.
- Perform other general maintenance and housekeeping duties as needed
- Is responsible for overall management of the LAS when EHS Coordinator is not onsite.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates primarily outside with the candidate being able to work in a hot, cold, moist and dirty environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, sit, walk, stand, and hear. This employee may be required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, and frequently lift up to 50 Ibs.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. Weekend coverage and occasional overtime may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Little to no travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Georgia Class II Wastewater License
- Ability to obtain Georgia Class IV Water License within 6 months.
- Maintenance experience or certification
