What you’ll do
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the all-electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Oversee the design and development of power conversion and distribution systems for Scout pickup trucks and SUVs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company specifications.
- Provide technical expertise in power electronics, including converter/inverter design, battery management systems, and charging systems.
- Develop requirement documentation, oversee DFMEA activities and design reviews for power electronics components.
- Develop and execute rigorous testing and validation protocols to verify the performance and reliability of power conversion and distribution systems.
- Ensure that all power conversion and distribution systems meet or exceed relevant industry standards, certifications, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to select and manage suppliers for power electronics components, ensuring quality and reliability.
- Mentor a team of engineers responsible for power electronics, converters, inverters, and distribution systems.
Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. The role will be based at our office in Novi, MI. Applicants should expect that the role may require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and be able to travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, electrical engineering or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in power electronics design and development, with a focus on electric vehicle applications.
- Proven leadership experience, including project coordination.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software and simulation tools for power electronics design.
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to power conversion and distribution.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
