LAUNCH MANAGER
DUNCAN, SC

 

The Launch Manager provides leadership, coordinates, and manages plant wide operation readiness related to new product launch activities and serves as the interface between the manufacturing plant team and the program management and customer teams.

 

The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Basic managing, monitoring, and support with WM system troubleshooting issues
  • Oversee and support the end users of the WM system
  • Train new hires/existing hires to make them familiar with the WM scanning system
  • Assure new hires are set up with proper access
  • Shop floor warehouse support to the operations team
  • Ensure that the processes are documented and strictly followed
  • Maintenance of the user manual for the operations team
  • Maintain all the master data associated with the warehouse management system
  • Manage engineering changes to avoid excess/obsolescence
  • Be able to make suggestions and innovative ideas to further continuous improvement

 

Your Qualifications:

 

  • Knowledge in manufacturing problem solving and processes required.
  • Knowledge of QS-9000/TS16949 requirements including APQP and PPAP required.
  • Knowledge of seating systems; lean manufacturing techniques, and just in time environments.
  • Knowledge of process efficiency as needed to make observations and take measurements directly, as well as collecting and interpreting data from the other technical and operating staff involved.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and/or concrete variables.
  • Ability to build a rapport with other departments as needed to work collaboratively with those responsible for the quality control of raw material, plant product specifications and production schedules, and the operating crew.

 

REPSONSIBILITIES:

  • Partners with Lear’s cross functional team (Program Management, Product Engineering, etc.) to define the appropriate product and customer requirements in line with APQP process and track them through final PPAP
  • Develops and manages project plans and schedules considering all aspects of plant launch readiness; manages open issues reviews, resource requirements and planning, risk mitigation plans, communication plans, project costs, and all other project related activities 
  • Manages the completion of deliverables as required; coordinates all project activities with cross functional team
  • Communicates as needed and through the Profile system to launch team members and senior management all risk and critical for success factors, progress status, analysis of requirements that may impact the launch. Follow
  • Collaborates with cross functional teams to identify and document detailed requirements, process flows, and data sources. Recommends process improvements to ensure successful product launches
  • Manages through each functional department and plant management the resource planning and project costs
  • Organizes, manages, and participates in Internal and External MRR Reviews
  • Ensures product readiness with customer by attaining launch gateway sign off at each phase
  • Participates in Customer PDCA meetings 
  • Follow and track plant issues in Profile until 100% closure
  • Produce weekly/monthly project status reports on preparation of all build events and customer events, trial runs, and production status through SOP+3
  • Review and leverage best practices when applicable
