Specific job responsibilities relevant for this position include:  Assembles and prepares the necessary equipment required for daily food service to students and/or teachers.  Preheats ovens; obtains necessary funds (cash, change) for registers; prepares a disinfectant wash water and wipes down all counters and tables within the food service environment. Orders, receives, prepares, and serves student meals and does necessary paperwork for documentation of them.

Knowledge:  Basic food service safety and sanitation, National School Lunch Program regulations, basic food preparation, computer input skills, basic office procedures such as phone answering, filing, 10-key adding machine.
 
Skills (position requirements at entry):  Computer input and basic math skills.
 
Training and Experience (position requirements at entry):   High School Diploma or GED. Previous education, training, work or life experiences which provide reasonable evidence of the successful performance of the various tasks listed.  Such experience may be evidenced through three (3) to six (6) months of cashiering and/or meal preparatory experience.
 
Licensing Requirements (position requirements at entry):  Valid Alaska driver's license.  Must submit an "Alaska Food Worker" card upon hire.
