We are seeking a dynamic Winemaker who understands every step of the process, from grape to bottle, and thrives on influencing the quality and style of our final products. This role offers the opportunity to mentor and lead junior winemakers, contributing to the growth and success of our talented team.

 

As a Winemaker, you will play a vital role in managing winery workflow processes, ensuring accurate data, and driving operational excellence. From overseeing grape and wine assignments to conducting tastings and fining trials, your expertise will shape the style and quality of our wines. You will ensure blends meet specifications in terms of style, cost, and volume, ready for bottling to maintain inventory alignment. Your ability to adapt to challenges, resolve issues, and implement innovative solutions will be key to maintaining our high standards.

 

The Winemaker will build strong cross-functional relationships while driving an inclusive culture. You will participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to strategic projects that support our company’s goals. Leadership responsibilities include developing and mentoring team members, fostering innovation, and ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental regulations.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 5 year of winemaking, viticulture, winery engineering or chemistry experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility OR Master of Science degree in Viticulture or Enology plus 4 years of enology, winemaking, viticulture, winery engineering or chemistry reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • High School Diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.
  • Candidate is required to have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver’s license based on the position’s location within 30 days of hire.
  • Required to lift and move up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Required to possess the color vision necessary to judge and evaluate wine color.
  • Required to taste and evaluate wines.
  • Required to be 21 years of age or older due to wine tasting.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
