What You'll Be Doing
The Assistant Risk Trader works closely with the Risk Trader and Head Trader by supporting andpromoting trading services.
What We're Looking For
- Responsibile for aiding the Head Traders and Risk Traders in their work to provide tradingservices. Will not be allowed to risk capital for the firm or to determine which securities can beoffered for sale
- Training to become a Risk Trader at some point in their career. This is a stepping stone for a rolethat will require more in depth knowledge of the product area they are working.
- Help with answering the phones, setting up offering sheets, updating inventory pages, sendingout information requested by the financial advisors and anything else that the Head Traders orRisk Traders need assistance with.
- Will abide by all the Policies and Procedures of Stifel and should be completely aware of and incompliance with all FINRA, TRACE, MSRB, SEC, and state and federal laws as they relate to thesecurities industry and the products they work in.
- Need to be aware of and report suspicious trading activity that may be a violation of rules,policies, or procedures directly to their Head Trader. Responsible for the accuracy of every tradethey assist and make appropriate corrections when necessary.
- May be asked to assist in preparing marketing materials. The material will need to be reviewed bythe Head Trader and Senior Managing Director before it can be distributed to our financialadvisors.
What You'll Bring
- Must have a complete understanding of the capital markets, with an understanding of theproducts they are learning to trade. They must be able to communicate intelligently with othersand have confidence in talking with other professionals in the industry. They must also be able towork in a very hectic environment and be extremely good with numbers and computers.
Education & Experience
- Minimum 4 year degree preferred in Finance, Economics, or Business related.
- At least 4 years industry experience preferred--back office or operations, etc.
Licenses & Credentials
- Minimum Required: 7, 63, 55 (if equity trader) within months after hire.
Systems & Technology
- Minimum Required: Bloomberg, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Being familiar with systems like TradeWeb/BondDesk, or any other Trading Platforms required bythe product area they are working in like MarketAxes, IPREO, TREPP, and FIDESSA to name afew.
