Medtronic Neuromodulation is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Principal Social Media & Content Specialist to lead the strategy, content development, and execution of our organic and paid social media efforts. This role manages the full content lifecycle—from concept to post—with a focus on socially relevant storytelling that builds engagement, elevates the brand, and supports business goals. The ideal candidate is hands-on, collaborative, and fluent in the platforms, tools, and tactics that drive high-performing social campaigns in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop and execute organic and paid social media strategies aligned with brand priorities and audience needs.

  • Lead content calendars and publishing schedules across LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook/Meta, YouTube in partnership with cross-functional teams.

  • Create and publish socially relevant, visually engaging content using formatting and design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to source, write, and adapt content for social platforms.

  • Lead the development, training, and execution of the Medtronic Voices Program.

  • Leverage AI tools for social listening, audience segmentation, content personalization, and trend forecasting to enhance campaign performance.

  • Use generative AI to accelerate content creation and optimization across social platforms while ensuring brand alignment and compliance.

  • Partner with web team to integrate SXO principles into social content. strategies, ensuring discoverability and high-quality user experience.

  • Stay current on emerging AI tools, algorithms, and platform capabilities to ensure Medtronic remains at the forefront of digital innovation.

  • Promote employee, healthcare provider and patient-generated content across channels to amplify authentic brand storytelling.

  • Manage day-to-day publishing and ensure consistent brand voice, tone, and compliance across platforms.

  • Coordinate content reviews with legal, regulatory, and marketing partners.

  • Collaborate with media and performance marketing teams to execute and optimize paid social campaigns.

  • Monitor and report on campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.

  • Oversee moderation of social channels, triage comments, and escalate issues when appropriate.

  • Maintain a professional, brand-aligned presence in all interactions.

  • Train employees and sales teams on social media best practices and compliance guidelines to support brand ambassadorship.

  • Provide guidance and tools to encourage responsible, effective platform use

  • Ensure all content aligns with brand standards, governance policies, and compliance requirements.

  • Use tools such as Sprout Social, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, and Meta Business Suite to schedule, monitor, and analyze content performance.

  • Stay up to date on platform trends, algorithm changes, and emerging tools to drive relevance and innovation.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Nice to Have 

  • Degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field

  • 3–5 years of experience managing social media for a brand or agency

  • Strong writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills (for example
    videos, reels, carousel posts).

  • Proficiency in social media platforms, publishing tools, and content creation software

  • Experience working in a regulated industry or healthcare preferred

  • Organized, proactive, and skilled at balancing strategic thinking with tactical execution
