As the Senior Procurement Operations Manager, you will lead and provide expertise to a team of buyers, vendor onboarding/management specialists, and other P2P operational support resources to execute tactical sourcing projects for products and services below a specified spend threshold, operationalize category strategies, and manage the overall vendor onboarding and Req-To-PO process. The goal of this role is to successfully manage our procurement operations team and ensure stakeholder satisfaction, deliver savings opportunities by working with category managers to meet operational requirements, and continuously improve the Req-To-PO and vendor onboarding processes.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Manage and provide direction to a team of buyers and BPO resources across tactical sourcing, Req-To-PO, receiving, and vendor onboarding/management and ensure SLAs are being tracked and met
  • Manage the overall Req-To-PO process and identify and implement efficiencies to decrease cycle time and increase stakeholder satisfaction
  • Develop and implement the strategic vision of the procurement operations organization that aligns with the broader goals of GXO’s Finance function
  • Provide supply market and negotiation expertise on the Tactical Sourcing process and best practices; drive adoption of best practices and standardized processes within the team of Buy Desk specialists
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across a multi-functional network of stakeholders (upstream, downstream, and peer) in order to ensure that any strategy supports the needs of the business, and to facilitate initial buy-in, ongoing engagement, and support for the execution of the global strategy at all levels
  • Demonstrate strong executive presence and communication skills to provide thoughtful solutions to global problems and articulate status reports including challenges, define risks, and mitigation approaches
  • Foster a collaborative, “win as a team” environment with a growth mindset and continuous improvement focus across the organization
  • Nurture stakeholder relationships by serving as a business partner, help identify critical business requirements, and provide sourcing and procurement services that meet expectations
  • Facilitate change management with colleagues and key contacts throughout the organization to ensure compliance and adoption of key GXO procurement policies and processes
  • Coach, mentor, and indirectly lead individuals within various functions to drive effective performance on key deliverables and category strategy implementation.

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 5+ years of Procurement Operations, Tactical Sourcing, or Procurement Managed Services experience
  • 3+ years of experience in business process optimization/reengineering, applying process improvement, modeling, and reengineering methodologies to conduct process optimization and improvement projects
  • Experience managing a team of buyers and other specialists to facilitate requisition creation, PO generation, and vendor onboarding activities
  • Familiarity with overseeing an off-shore team focused on the Source-To-Pay function
  • Demonstrated success of leading project teams to achieve quantifiable cost savings and/or process improvement initiatives
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to drive change in a global decentralized organization with minimum supervision
  • Champions best practice processes, tools, and commitment to provide quality procurement products/customer service
  • Strong project management skills and results-oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills
  • Strong negotiation management experience
  • Strong management capabilities to manage and develop the tactical sourcing team
  • Knowledge of eProcurement and eCatalog management systems
