What’s unique about this role?

The Senior Financial Business Systems Analyst II drives the development, maintenance, support, and continuous improvement of business systems that underlie key finance functions at Lighthouse. The Sr. FBSA II is expected to lead a project with minimal oversight beyond standard check-ins. The current focus for the role is on billing systems. Over time, the Analyst will also drive the development, maintenance, support, and continuous improvement of other business systems. The Sr. FBSA II acts as an internal consultant, working with stakeholders within and outside of Finance to identify and analyze business system needs, and using the results to drive system and process improvements. The Sr Analyst is a key advocate at Lighthouse for achieving better financial performance through process improvements and automation. 

 

What will this person do?

  • Project ownership and advanced expertise: Significant authority of one or more finance systems and / or set of processes. Ability to work with stakeholders to drive improvements directly with minimal oversight. 
  • Strategic & Critical Thinking: The Senior FBSA II II can think strategically and contribute to the long-term goals and vision of the organization, including participating in planning and decision-making process conversations with the department director and team. The Senior FBSA II is expected to handle complex problems and create solution proposals that align with the company's objectives. They should be able to navigate challenges and address critical issues effectively and efficiently. Can autonomously implement solutions or create solution proposals and requirement documents for discussion as appropriate.
  • Billing system and process improvements. Driving system and process improvements forward, defining technical requirements, and collaborating with developers on system development and automation projects with very little oversight. Consults directly with billing teams and other billing stakeholders to identify, analyze, and prioritize system and process improvement opportunities. Based on opportunities, drives system and process improvements forward. Defines technical requirements and collaborates with developers on system development and automation projects. Drives process improvements using strategies including simplifying and documenting processes, creating shared checklists and other documentation, defining roles and responsibilities, and providing training.
  • Billing system integration. Drives billing system integration efforts by analyzing billing data, highlighting integration impacts, defining requirements, and collaborating with developers on system integration projects.
  • Client-facing reporting. Gathers input, assesses current capabilities, and defines technical requirements for client-facing reporting. Based on requirements, drives efforts to create / improve client-facing reporting functionality. Generates reports, or ensures that reports are generated by others, to meet client needs.
  • Internal reporting. Drives the creation of internal reporting functionality for billing and related metrics, including pricing and volume reports. Generates reports, or ensures that reports are generated by others, to meet internal needs.
  • Technical support internally and for clients: Sr. FBSA II II provide support to other members of the team, particularly junior staff. They are expected to lead by example and help develop the skills of their team. Additionally, it provides technical support for billing and related systems. Ability to work with stakeholders to understand and independently diagnose issues. Researches and analyzes system issues. Identifies and recommends solutions, including product customizations / enhancements / work-around and/or long-term system and process improvements.
  • System / data administrative services. Provides system / data administrative services for billing and related systems. Maintains pricing and other data in our billing systems. Addresses timekeeping requests.
  • Other projects. Applies analytical and technical skills to similar system and process improvement projects at Lighthouse. Develops business cases for other projects. Collaborates with stakeholders within and outside of Finance to drive approved projects forward.
