Description

We’re looking for an experienced operating room (OR) Surgical Technologist Coordinator with at least 2 years of experience and able to function as a clinical service line expert. Our Technologist are integral members of inter-professional teams in hospitals and clinics that are committed to outstanding patient care, driven by their expertise, compassion and operate at a higher level of practiceSurg Tech 

  • Will coordinate the services and program, participate in growth by improving efficiencies, standards, and performance of the service line.
  • Responsible for assisting with planning, implementing, and coordinating services and activities associated with the service line.
  • Acts as a clinical liaison and assists with overseeing the technical and clinical aspects of the specified service line.
  • The service line coordinator participates in training and mentoring of new staff members, enhancing staff skills and knowledgebase.
  • Assists in identifying staff education needs based on clinical situations and recommends appropriate in-service.
  • The service line coordinator will work with surgeons, nurses, first assistants and scrub techs to streamline and standardize the service line to improve efficiency and quality of care.
  • The service line coordinator will be required to maintain surgical tech skills and assist with surgical procedures on a routine basis, assist with troubleshooting, movement, setup and breakdown. 
  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent job training.
  • Certified as a surgical technician or two years of experience in lieu of certification.
  • 1-2 years’ experience within specific service line preferred.
  • Must be able to function as a clinical expert in the specified service
  • Specialty areas include; Colorectal, Complex GYN, Complex Neuro, ENT, General Surgery, Oncology Ophthalmology (Corneal; Retina Cell transplants), Procedures (aneurysm, craniotomy), Reconstructive Surgery (e.g. TRAM Flaps), Robotics, Surgical Oncology (Head & Neck, Skull based, HIPEC), Thoracic and Vascular.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association (AHA) required.

Our Perioperative Surgical Department is a 22-bay unit, with currently 6 operating rooms, 4 to open in the future. We also care for patients from other procedural areas such as Interventional Radiology and Endoscopy to provide complete specialized care. Our care communities focus on patients with specific types of cancer, providing specialized infusion, clinical examination rooms, clinical research, and space for support and rehabilitation services allowing us to further focus on our holistic approach that is patient centered.
