Pricing is one of the most important business levers - every dollar of revenue and profit generated can be tied back, directly or indirectly, to a pricing decision. It sits at the intersection of product offering and consumer value. As part of the Commerce Product org, the Senior Manager, Pricing Strategy is responsible for shaping long-term strategy at the global and local level.

This role is based in our Los Gatos office (preferred) in a hybrid model, but we are open to remote candidates who are on the West Coast. Some travel to Los Gatos will be required if remote-based.

As the Sr. Manager of Pricing Strategy, you will:

  • Develop pricing principles and frameworks that take into account consumer demand, competitive landscape, and other factors

  • Lead a nimble team of stunning colleagues across Finance, Strategy Planning & Analysis, Data Science, and Consumer Insights to design and orchestrate a learning agenda around consumer willingness to pay and price elasticity

  • Drive price change planning, with a cross-functional team that includes product, design, finance, data science, comms

  • Build strong relationships across both local and global teams 

  • Establish pricing recommendations for new products or services based on projected demand and profitability

  • Curate agenda, author memos and presentations, and drive discussions with senior executives and regional leadership teams regarding local pricing decisions and forward-looking strategy

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of company-wide initiatives that would affect pricing decisions

Wishlist:

  • 10+ years of experience working in strategy, product, consulting (or a combination of the above) focused on monetization and pricing

  • In-depth pricing experience with a proven record of prioritizing and driving large-scale pricing programs and initiatives.

  • Ability to inspire, motivate and lead a cross-functional team as well as effectively communicate decisions to senior executives- your ability to build strong relationships is critical to success.

  • Experience in a direct-to-consumer business, preferably with global scope where the consumer is paying for the service.

  • Strong understanding of market dynamics and consumer behavior, across economics/finance and marketing disciplines. 

  • Passion for Growth, Pricing, and/or Behavioral Economics!

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - you will write a lot!

  • Comfortable using data to inform priorities and evaluate impact of initiatives

  • Strong instincts for outstanding customer experience.

Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top-of-market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $120,000 - $515,000 .
