Experian is seeking an experienced Spark Engineer to join our Product Delivery team. This is a great opportunity for someone who has gone beyond the basics of using the Spark framework and has dug into the internals and details of the Spark framework. An ideal candidate will have built multiple Big Data pipelines, extensively leveraged their deep, detailed knowledge of Spark to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions, and delivered production-level ML platforms.

Job Description

• Participate in the design and development of a cloud-based Machine Learning platform.
• Lead the development of enhancements to the Spark framework.
• Leverage Scala, Java and distributed computing platforms in an enterprise at large scale and high complexity.
• Resolve performance issues in complex ML Spark pipelines.
• Demonstrate agile development practices for enterprise-level systems component design and implementation.
• Apply deep understanding of enterprise software design for implementation of big data/ML data services with Spark.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline; Masters preferred
• 3+ years Scala programming experience required.
• Deep experience with Spark architecture, internals, and performance tuning.  A minimum of 5 years experience with Spark required.
• 3+ years AWS Cloud experience – EMR, EFS, ECS, EKS, SageMaker, Fargate etc.
• 5+ years experience leveraging the Hadoop ecosystem to deliver big data pipelines and ML solutions.
• Thorough knowledge of open-source ML frameworks.
• Great attention to details with an analytical and curious mind.
• Excellent communication skills.
