Jessie M. Honeyman Memorial State Park

Near Florence, Oregon

This versatile coastal park is tucked in the dunes three miles south of the city of Florence and two miles from the ocean. Known simply as "Honeyman," the park includes the second largest Oregon state park campground and two sparkling freshwater lakes. Spring brings out the pink rhododendrons. Come summertime, this is a great place for family reunions. The fall huckleberries and blackberries are ripe for the picking. This is truly a park for all seasons.

Your New Role:

As a Seasonal Park Ranger 1, you will perform, conduct and oversee a variety of tasks in order to protect, maintain, operate and repair state park lands, natural and cultural resources, structures, facilities, equipment and systems by using skills in building trades, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting and landscape maintenance, as well as specialized program skills (e.g.: resource interpretation, cultural and natural resource restoration, utility infrastructure operation, park rule enforcement, etc.) related to the maintenance and operations of OPRD programs, properties within the Jessie M Honeyman Management Unit.

The season duration typically runs March - November but may vary based on park need. ​Housing is not available at this time.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of visitor services experience (e.g. rule enforcement; interpretation such as education and environmental awareness programs; special events and activities; etc.) AND/OR maintenance experience (e.g., construction trades, landscaping).
