The Analyst/Associate reports directly to the fund Controller and Senior Controller and will support the ongoing management of various Apollo credit hedge funds as well as a recent PE-style credit fund launch. This individual will be tasked with the quality execution of the day-to-day core accounting responsibilities, driving improvements in processes and reporting, and engaging in problem-solving. We are seeking a talented and dedicated professional with the ability to be part of a versatile team and a strong desire to learn and develop in their career.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist with month-end and quarter-end close process, including completing a NAV package with all the relevant supporting documentation, maintaining the fund-level waterfall, calculating performance figures, coordinating investor reporting to limited partners, and assisting with corporate and regulatory reporting requirements.
Maintain the fund books-and-records and partner allocations
Coordinate capital call and distribution notices with the Investor Services team
Prepare/review financial statements, facilitate the audit and provide information for tax preparation annually
Analyze and prepare expense allocations and budgets between multiple fund entities
Identify and analyze daily cash activity for various fund entities
Verify portfolio pricing to internal model and third-party sources
Complete/Review internal fund reporting including liquidity and investment metrics
Address ad hoc requests as needed
Qualifications & Experience
CPA preferred
Public accounting experience preferred
College degree with a competitive GPA and demonstrated math or analytical ability
2-5 years relevant fund accounting/audit work experience
Previous PE Style and Hedge Fund experience preferred
Previous experience evaluating process controls, procedures, and flows
Excellent communication skills including the ability to synthesize and see the big picture
Ability to juggle more than one project at a time and work in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and effective organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
