About Betterment
Betterment is a leading, technology-driven financial services company that offers investing and retirement solutions for retail investors and investment advisors as well as financial wellness solutions, including a 401(k) for small and medium-sized businesses. Our team is passionate about our mission: making people’s lives better. We’re headquartered in NYC and offer hybrid NY-based positions (three days/ week in-office).
About the role
At Betterment, we work hard to maximize every dollar our customers have entrusted to us. Data plays a critical role in nearly all of our pursuits and operations — it is core to how we prioritize the focus of hundreds of engineers, product managers, and designers, how we allocate resources to different customer acquisition channels, how we efficiently run the operations of a business that manages over $50 billion dollars of our customers’ money, and much much more.
The Analytics team drives impact across all areas of Betterment, partnering with teams to shape strategy, identify opportunities, and influence product decisions that deliver the best experience for our customers. Projects range from building intuitive dashboards that provide a pulse on the business to performing deep dives into customer behavior that uncover game-changing insights and turning those deep dives into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
As a Lead Data Analyst, you will work across business lines to research Betterment’s highest-priority questions. This is a high-impact role, ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of data strategy, cross-functional influence, hands-on experimentation, and analytics. You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, marketing, finance, strategy, and operations to guide Betterment’s direction through data. You will also mentor other analysts, influence product roadmap decisions, and identify key opportunities that create long-term value for our customers and the company.
