Required Degree/Qualifications: (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor's degree. Five [5] years of full-time professional experience in business analysis, application design, and software development and maintenance. Supervisory experience. Experience with software development practices, including developing and maintaining applications. Experience with two or more programming languages, including at least one object-oriented programming language. Experience with relational database management systems, including SQL.

Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Experience with project management methodologies and practices. Experience implementing, administering, and supporting hotel management, campus housing, or residential management applications. Experience applying AI-driven tools and methodologies to improve operational efficiency, system automation, and data analysis.

Primary Purpose:
The Assistant Director of Campus Residences Information Systems reports to the Director of Campus Residences Information Systems. This role plans and directs the programming team, ensuring the timely and effective delivery of all residential housing services supporting Campus Residences.

Key responsibilities include overseeing the development, maintenance, and enhancement of residential applications, evaluating and approving emerging technologies (including AI-driven tools) for innovation, and ensuring strict adherence to all departmental and university standards. This position is also expected to analyze and develop effective solutions to personnel and workload challenges. The Assistant Director mentors and develops staff and, in the Director's absence, serves as the area lead to maintain service continuity and coordinate priorities.

Essential Duties:

Service Delivery Responsibilities:

  •  Plan and direct the delivery of high-quality systems services supporting Campus Residences, including:

     Collaborate and maintain strong working relationships with Campus Residences stakeholders to identify needs and develop both strategic and operational solutions.

     Lead and supervise the programming team in the design, development, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, documentation, and review of code for campus housing and residential management applications, as well as related systems, interfaces, and reports.

     Design and maintain complex system integrations to streamline business processes.

     Plan and manage team workload, assign tasks, and ensure timely and effective project delivery.

     Ensure adherence to the Division of Information Technology (DoIT) and university standards for software development, documentation, security, performance, and the secure, private, and reliable handling of campus data.

     Manage and maintain application servers and environments supporting residential systems, ensuring availability, performance, security, and proper configuration across development, testing, and production.

     Review and improve code developed by programmer analysts.

     Stay current with emerging technologies and introduce innovative solutions to enhance systems and services.
