Meet our team

As the Business Risk and Controls Lead (Internal Controls Analyst), you will join the Internal Controls team within PayPal’s Global Customer Services (GCS) organization. You will manage and perform various risk processes, especially proactive risk reviews. The GCS Internal Controls Team is embedded in the GCS organization and enables the day-to-day management of risks for GCS. You will partner closely with GCS business leaders and our Second Line of Defense (SLOD) partners to identify and assess risks pertaining to the business. This enables PayPal and GCS to be able to identify risks and issues early and address them before they escalate.

  • Perform proactive risk reviews to identify potential risks and issues, document, rate, and ensure proper control evaluations are in place.

  • Identify control gaps and remediate risks for all new regulatory and product changes across GCS.

  • Drive execution of incident, complaint, and RCP remediation.

  • Accountable for review and approval of Business Continuity Plans.

  • Maintain Governance, Risk, Compliance (GRC) tool data for areas of responsibility. 

  • Develop and maintain strong understanding of key risk management principles and PayPal products and services within your area of responsibility.

Your day to day

  • Conduct analysis of key risk metrics, identify trends and potential areas of risk, and provide escalated risks to management.

  • Create and maintain risk and control inventories including Capabilities, Products, Processes, Legal Entity, Risks, and Controls.

  • Provide guidance to internal stakeholders and business partners on Process Assurance Monitoring and assist in the response to Internal and External Audit and Testing Engagements (e.g., Second Line of Defense reviews, Internal Audits, Regulatory Examinations).

What do you need to bring

  • 3-4 years of Audit, Risk, Compliance, Regulatory, banking, or similar experience.

  • Experience in managing risks, controls, and/or compliance obligations in the financial industry preferred.

  • Advanced research and analytical skills such as an ability to assess and analyze large amounts of data with a high attention to detail, identify patterns, trends, & pitfalls, and create reports on critical information.

  • Problem Solving Skills that include operating independently while managing multiple competing priorities with difficult deadlines and exhibiting a sense of urgency when necessary.

  • Expert oral, written and interpersonal communication skills whereby you convey complex information accurately, clearly, and quickly to all levels of management.
