SUMMARY

The Finance and Data Aide is responsible for administration of all cash benefits to refugees and administering financial details of all refugee programs. This position is also responsible for entering clients' data and financial data in data bases.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In accordance with the cash processing timeline, manages all cash assistance processes for clients under applicable programs.
  • Administers other benefits provided to clients such as rent payments, bus passes, food coupons, housing supplies, etc.
  • Processes employee and contractor expense requests on a scheduled basis.
  • Issues emergency checks.
  • Responsible for compiling and transmitting data to the Colorado Refugee Services Program database.
  • Maintains required records.
  • Completes initial file quality assurances.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Cross cultural sensitivity and knowledge with the ability and desire to work with people of other cultures, some of who will be limited English speakers.
  • Accounting or advanced bookkeeping skills.
  • Strong computer skills in Word, Excel, use of email and other applications.
  • Functional fluency in one or more foreign languages preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of practices, principles, and methods employed in the resettlement of refugees, including a working knowledge and understanding of United States Immigration laws and regulations is a plus.
  • Written communication skills and ability to create reports.
  • Detail oriented, extensive documentation skills, organized and able to work in a multi-tasked environment.
  • Maintains punctuality for work, appointments and report dates.
  • Ability to self-start but also works well in a team setting. Can collaborate effectively with others.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide proof of auto liability insurance at the level of $100,000/300,000/100,000.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associates degree; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
