Youth Ballet Instructor (International District/Chinatown Community Center)


If you have a knowledge and understanding of Ballet fundamentals and passion for and experience teaching, Associated Recreation Council (ARC) has a role for you as a Youth Ballet Instructor at International District/Chinatown Community Center. This is a seasonal part-time role with a targeted start date of 01/08/2026.




ARC, in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, serves Seattle by offering access to licensed childcare and a variety of recreational and lifelong learning programs, classes, and activities. In this role, the Youth Ballet Instructor at International District/Chinatown Community Center will lead participants through 30-minute lessons. The class’s objectives are to strengthen bodies and minds and provide a safe and positive environment for children to express themselves.




Schedule: 




  • Thursdays 5:00-5:45pm
  • 01/08/2026-03/26/2026


Start Date: 01/08/2026







Ballet Instructor Duties and Responsibilities:







  • Develop and deliver developmentally appropriate class lesson plans for cohorts. Instructors are expected to plan their weekly dance lessons.
  • Plan, lead and implement age-appropriate lessons for ballet classes, focusing on strengthening minds and bodies, introductory skills, fine motor development, and dance appreciation.
  • Instructors are expected to set up and clean up the space before and after each weekly lesson.
  • Complete required administrative reports, such as attendance sheets and accident reports.






Youth Ballet Instructor requirements include:





  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Experience working with children
  • Experience teaching ballet
  • Must pass a criminal background check


Pay:



  • $26.50 - 28.50/hr.
  • Seasonal, part-time position
