We welcome applications to skilled service professionals who are team-centric and positively energetic to join the museum as Food & Beverage Supervisor.

This is a non-exempt position without benefits, eligible to work up to approximately 28 hours per week on average and up to 1,450 hours annually (May 1 – April 30).

About the Work

The work is straightforward, make guests feel special.

Here is how Food & Beverage Supervisor accomplish this as a team:

Set-up area(s) to specifications, bringing life to event’s vision; linens, lighting, décor, accessories, etcetera.

Anticipate and accommodate guest needs, respond to requests in a professional and polite manner.

Serve fantastic fare to guests, replenishing food stations, drinks, and ensure that guests’ needs are met.

Support other event-related activities.

Breakdown of event area, returning to pre-event status.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Supervise all front-of-house operations for various events throughout the museum; assist managers with administrative tasks, if needed

Ability to solve problems independently and communicate effectively.

Ability to work and be cross trained in different areas of the food service department, if needed

Ensure established food service protocols and procedures are upheld, including health and safety guidelines.

Knowledge of ABC guidelines and full-service bar standards

Knowledge of the various aspects of provide excellent meal service to guests, knowledgeable of food items and service standards.

Ability to read, comprehend and follow basic floor plans, menus, and instructions; assist in preparing event space for service.

Ability to remain calm, professional, and gracious in a fast paced, high-pressure environment; resolve guest issues should they arise.

Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and appearance during events with guests and employees, excellent interpersonal skills.

Ability to be prompt and punctual to scheduled shifts.
