Teachers On Demand, INC is an educational staffing and recruiting firm that partners with K-12 schools around the United States. We are committed to assisting schools in the recruitment of high-quality educators on a permanent or substitute basis.
OUR PARTNER CHARTER:
The school is a public charter school from Pre-K through 8th grade that serves a diverse group of learners across three locations in Wards 5 and 6. They use the EL Education model, which emphasizes interactive, hands-on, project-based learning, and focuses on the whole child.
We are seeking two full-time educators for one of our partner schools located in Washington D.C. These positions will be for the upcoming school year 2023-2024.
- 6th Grade Science Teacher
- 6th/7th Grade Math Teacher
Requirements
For Math Position: Minimum BA/BS Degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education or equivalent degree; or Bachelor’s degree and a passing score on (1) Mathematics Content Knowledge PRAXIS and (2) Principles of Learning & Teaching PRAXIS exams; or Bachelor’s degree and five years of satisfactory lead teacher experience in Mathematics; or Bachelor’s degree and active OSSE certification or active certification from another state
For Science Position: Minimum BA/BS Degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, or equivalent degree; or Bachelor’s degree and a passing score on (1) Science Content Knowledge PRAXIS and (2) Principles of Learning & Teaching PRAXIS exams; or Bachelor’s degree and five years of satisfactory lead teacher experience in Science; or Bachelor’s degree and active OSSE certification or active certification from another state
Able to cultivate relationships with young scholars
Classroom management skills
Must be able to work Monday-Friday from 8:15 am-4:15 pm local time
